There are many of us that have dry, chapped, unpleasant lips, especially when it’s the cold time of the year. Taking care of lips does take time, but you can manage, you just need to remember two things: moisturize and… exfoliate! This homemade scrub will do just that!
Sugar is one of the most essential and most effective ingredients in homemade exfoliators, due to its coarse texture it serves as a great base for the scrub. Honey is a good companion to sugar due to its naturally moisturizing qualities and high mineral and vitamin content.
Take a teaspoon of honey and some sugar, then mix them together. Remember, sugar should be felt in the mixture! Scrub your lips with this mixture for 2-3 minutes, then let it sit for additional 5 minutes. Wash with warm water, and pat your face dry using a soft towel. This is to be done once a week.
If you don’t want to use sugar, you could substitute it for gram flour, since it has a similar texture and can serve as an exfoliant as well.
Don’t forget, you can use just honey to moisturize and nourish lips overnight, making them less susceptible to various irritants.
