A green smoothie can be a great way to start the day off to the right note. Especially this particular recipe: it’s full of antioxidants which makes it a good choice for detox; it’s full of protein and fiber, both of which help make you feel full for longer and provide proper nutrition to make you feel energized for the day. It’s especially nice if you want a refreshing drink that’s rich with flavor but is still healthy.
And due to the fact that it’s made with low-fat yogurt, it makes it extremely compatible with your diet — or just about any diet, for that matter!
You will need:
– 1/2 to 1 cup of low-fat yogurt (Greek will do fine); – A handful of spinach leaves; – 1/2 cup of pineapple (cut into chunks); – 1 green apple (deseeded and cut into chunks); – Half of a cucumber (chopped); – 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed; – A sprig (or two) of parsley.
Put all of the ingredients in a blender and mix until it is a smooth. Thin with yogurt as desired. After is is well blended, add some ice cubes, and blend it together again. Voila, you’re done! The mixture is ready to drink now!
